Juniper Creek Energy Storage is a proposed battery storage facility on a 5.7-acre site adjacent to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) Cordova substation in Rancho Cordova, California.
The project will use lithium-ion battery technology to store electricity from the grid when supply is abundant and deliver it to customers during times of peak demand, when it’s most needed.
Energy storage projects like Juniper Creek provide essential grid resiliency and reliability services.
Juniper Creek will help SMUD deliver a zero-carbon future and help to reduce the likelihood of local outages.
